Catalan vote favours segregationists

Political clouds will continue over Cataluña following today’s  (Thursday) regional elección in which pro-independency parties have obtained an overall majority.
With practically all votes processed (97%), Centrists Ciudadanos led by Inés Arrimadas won the election with over 25% of the votes. But nationalist ex-president Carles Puigdemont’s JxC party obtained 34 seats and former pro-segregation coalition parties ERC and anti-establishment party CUP get 32 and four seats respectively, thus allowing a pro-independency majority of 70 over 135 seats in Barcelona.
