Now that the British referendum has been finally settled, it makes me wonder how many people there are, like myself, who have effectively been denied a vote, by receiving their voting forms too late.
My voting form arrived in the post yesterday (June 25), 48 hours after the close of polls. This is in spite of reassurances that papers would be sent out in ample time to cast postal votes.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that if this has been pretty widespread in all EU countries, then tens of thousands of eligible people (or more) will have lost their vote. Again, assuming the fact that we have chosen to live in Europe, the probability is that a majority would have voted to remain.
Does anyone know if there is any department/government body or organisation that we can, at the very least, complain to?
