I remember sneaking out from Chester College bar one night with my good old pal, Dick. Not for us, this night, the PE student’s obligatory watering hole – we were off to an innovative new tavern, Chester’s first wine bar!
That experience, and subsequent visits of course, certainly endeared the wine bar concept to us both.
So when I walked into La Trastienda, very close to the Correos post office in Jávea to discuss the possibility of a wine/tapas pairing event with owner Juan, I felt instantly at home. La Trastienda is a proper wine bar – and this is as rare as hens’ teeth on the Costa Blanca.
