The right to a decent home


A national law enshrining the right to housing has now been definitively approved and will come into force as soon as it is published in the official state bulletin within the next two weeks.

It is the country’s first law to facilitate the constitutional right to decent housing – and the legislation gives regional governments and town halls tools to cap or reduce rent prices in particularly expensive areas where not enough social housing is available.
