AROUND 1,000 Las Marinas residents have signed a petition against plans to build a four-storey apartment block on the Blay Beach esplanade.
The beach has to be re-sanded several times a year as it is washed away with every rain storm, and is one of the few remaining stretches of Dénia’s coast which is relatively free from bricks and mortar.
But a developer’s billboard selling luxury apartments off-plan has appeared in recent weeks, causing concern for residents.
They fear a return of ‘concrete jungle fever’ and the potential for older houses being compulsorily purchased at derisory sums to make way for more new builds.
