Husband and wife Gary and Anne Blackburn find themselves legally separated in their bid to become officially resident in Spain and free to enjoy a new life in the sun.
Gary has an appointment to go through the formalities to obtain his residency card, the TIE or Tarjeta de Identidad Extranjero, next week – but Anne’s application for residency has been ‘knocked back’ three times to date and a fourth appeal to the Spanish government is in the pipeline.
