THE UK’s Electoral Commission has confirmed that expats who are eligible to vote in the EU referendum do not have to place a stamp on their postal vote envelopes.
Votes being returned by Britons living overseas use the International Business Reply Service (IBRS), which is provided free of charge.
Confusion has arisen over whether a stamp is needed after a number of expat forums published messages in which contributors claimed post office employees told them the IBRS system was not valid.
