After working hard to get up to the Salenques pass at 2,809 metres, the walker can enjoy a well-earned rest – and awe-inspiring views of large swathes of the Pyrenees.
It is the closest point of the walk to Aneto, the highest peak in the range at 3,404m, although the summit is hidden by the 3,000-metre mountains which stand before it.
