RESIDENTS of Benalmádena battling against the location of the town’s future recycling facility have convinced the town hall to join their cause.

Ground-clearing work for the €320,000 facility, at a site in the Finca Doña María zone, has sparked an angry reaction from locals, who claim that with an estimated 5,000 people living in the area and two schools and two hospitals nearby, a better location for the facility would be somewhere less populated, such as the town’s industrial estate.
