The trial of a 41-year-old Spanish man for the murder of an American woman of the same age in April 2015 began in Madrid on Monday. Miguel Ángel Muñoz is charged with killing Denise Pikka Thiem from Arizona who went missing while walking the Camino de Santiago. Five weeks later, Muñoz led police to her body but has since denied murdering her.
