A climber who was seriously injured after falling 50 metres on the west face of Sierra Nevada’s Mulhacén peak was rescued on Sunday afternoon. The 48-year-old was found suffering from head injuries by a Guardia Civil mountain intervention team at an altitude of 3,300 metres and was moved to an area suitable for a helicopter landing. From there he was airlifted to hospital in Granada.
