RESIDENTS and visitors to Fuengirola are now able to view bus timetables, check the local weather forecast, order taxis and keep updated with council news through a new smartphone app, which is available as a free download now.

Called +Fuengirola, it was launched last week by the local council, and is split into four main sections. The first, My City, keeps users connected to Fuengirola’s latest goings-on through a calendar of the town’s events including ferias and markets, council news bulletins and notifications on issues including traffic updates and water cuts.

The app will also make it much easier to get to grips with the town’s bus network, as its Public Transport tab will tell people how far away they are from the nearest bus stop or taxi rank, whilst also displaying bus routes, timetables and an estimated waiting time for the next bus to reach a particular stop.
