The Supreme Court has increased the prison sentence of former Marbella councillor Javier Lendínez for his bribery and fraud conviction in the Malaya corruption case. On an appeal by the public prosecutor, the court boosted his sentence from four years to five and a half. Lendínez was a fugitive from justice for five years before reappearing just after the Malaya case sentencing in October 2013.
