MIJAS town hall has put out to tender the design phase of a project aimed at easing the daily traffic jams at the junction between the Camino de Coín and the A-7 in Las Lagunas.

The project will see the enlargement of the roundabouts on either side of the A-7 underpass, as well as a restructuring of traffic on the slip roads coming off the A-7 in both the eastbound and westbound directions, explained councillors.

The goal is to improve traffic flow, reduce the time it takes to move vehicles off the motorway, and prevent the bottleneck that currently creates traffic jams affecting drivers heading into Las Lagunas as well as those seeking to access the A-7 from the zone.
