Cages to catch wild boar in and around Denia have been removed after only 30 were trapped in three months – a long way from the ‘10 or 12 a night’ originally predicted.
Three cages were set up in January as a pilot scheme before committing to paying for their hire long-term, but the council says they have ‘not proven effective’.
