Receiving an invitation to join the judging panel of the above, wholly Spanish, prestigious fraternity, or brotherhood, above gives one an inkling at least, that one is perhaps doing something right regarding the Spanish wine sector!
Therefore, I was delighted when their distinguished President, Señor Fernando Riquelme Ballesteros did exactly that recently. I assured him with some alacrity that I’d be happy to accept such an honour and so it was that I found myself on panel number one in the perfectly set up judging room of the Centro de Cualificación Turística de la Región de Murcia on a leafy, tree-lined avenida, not far from Murcia city centre.
