As part of the town hall's bid to boost culture and the arts, a Don Quijote quote has been written on the street in Plaza Costa del Sol, where a Quijote-themed sculpture exhibition is also on display

TORREMOLINOS town hall has put out a call to artists interested in working in the town on a month-long artist-in-residence grant. The 10 artists selected for the grant will receive room and board, a €1,500 stipend, plus the cost of materials for their project, to be carried out in the town during the month of October. The scheme is open to Spaniards as well as foreigners residing legally in Spain.

The launch of the new grant programme – known as EmerGenT – comes as part of the town hall’s push to boost Torremolinos’ cultural image through the arts, which has already included large-scale sculpture exhibitions in the recently pedestrianised Plaza Costa del Sol area of the town centre.
