Valencia president Carlos Mazón travelled to Torrevieja on Monday to check on the project to transform the port and visit the hospital which is back under public control.
He toured the works which are changing the face of the town centre seafront.
Sr Mazón said the harbour scheme is a ‘symbol of the future, and the new Valencia region which is thinking big’.
