Costa Blanca town halls have been promoting the best of their municipalities this week at Spain’s largest tourism fair, FITUR which offers a shop window to the world travel market.

The ‘enormous potential’ of Orihuela with its countryside, beaches, active sightseeing and historic monuments, makes it place to discover ‘all year round’, was the message of the town hall at FITUR.

Mayoress Carolina Gracia joined tourism councillor María García, who said her department had worked hard to reinforce Orihuela’s presence at this increasingly busy event.

Sra García said Wednesday was ‘a very intense day’ with ‘very productive meetings’, some of them ‘specifically about the foreign resident sector’.

“It is important to know what type of tourism they like so we can improve as a destination and improve the quality of our services,” she emphasised.

The councillor also promoted the new website for booking everything from accommodation to restaurants and tickets for shows, as well as the municipality’s museums, beaches, golf courses and fiestas.
