FUENGIROLA’S council has introduced 10 vertical banners that will be used to warn swimmers of the presence of rip currents at local beaches, and give them information on how to swim to their safety.
The portable banners – similar to those used for promotional purposes by businesses – have been made available to the town’s lifeguard service and can be placed at any point along the town’s coastline when there is a rip current present, or if risks are detected.
