Over 2,000 cases of Covid-19 in Valencia city

The new breakdown of figures per muncipality in the Valencia region shows 2,088 people in Valencia city have contracted the coronavirus since the first cases were reported earlier this year, of whom 242 have died. Valencia city, with a population of almost 800,000 residents, has the largest number of cases and deaths in region. Alicante city has lost 84 residents to Covid-19 and next on the list is Alcoi where serious outbreaks in care homes accounted for many of the 80 fatalities reported there. Castellón city’s death toll to this date is of 42, behind Torrent (another care home case epicentre) that has reported 53.
