Mountainside memorial for RAF airmen

THE seven Royal Air Force airmen who perished when a Wellington crashed onto the Montgo mountain above Denia on December 5, 1950, were finally honoured in an emotional ceremony 69 years later.
Flying to Gibraltar on a navigational training exercise, the twin-engine aircraft NA598 was hit by extreme weather and flew off course into disaster.
