MIJAS dog owners and their pooches will soon have room to roam after the town hall last week announced it is creating the “biggest dog park in Andalucía”. The nearly 25,000-square-metre site in the northern area of Calahonda will be double the size of the region’s current biggest dog park – a 12,000-square-metre facility in Marbella – they said.

Further, the council is already drawing up plans for two more dog parks, in Las Lagunas and La Cala, and says that when these open next year Mijas will have more square metres dedicated to dog parks than any other municipality in Spain.
