MARBELLA’S local council issued a stern warning last week to the producers of a controversial reality television show. A statement from the town’s tourism department reminded the producers of MTV’s Super Shore show that pre-authorisation from the department’s Marbella Film Office is needed before filming can be done on the town’s streets and public spaces, after MTV announced earlier last month that parts of the show’s second season would be filmed in the Costa del Sol town.
The Marbella Film Office said that the permits to film in Marbella had not even been applied for by the producers, as they said they were only going to film in establishments and on private property, and added that the concessionaire company for Puerto Banus had denied a request for cameras to roll on the port.
