A NATIONAL Police officer from the Torremolinos-Benalmádena police station is getting set to travel to Greece to distribute donated clothing, food and medicine to refugees. Officer Gilberto Morales, 44, is currently collecting donations for what will be his second trip to the country, following a month-long stay last year when he delivered toys to children in refugee camps as part of a month-long charity bicycle tour.

Donations have been pouring in and Morales already has as much clothing as he can handle but is still seeking additional non-perishable food, baby formula and basic hygiene items such as toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and baby wipes. The donation deadline is February 5 and the main drop-off point is the Enviaconmigo shipping company at 22 Calle Santa Teresa near the Mijas El Corté Inglés store.
