Doctors and patients join to demand healthcare improvements

They say budgetary cutbacks have diminished the quality of care

The College of Physicians and 11 patients' associations presented a 10-point manifesto directed at both the regional and central governments

MÁLAGA’S Official College of Physicians joined 11 patients’ associations last week to issue a demand for greater resources and other improvements in the public health system, which they say has been deteriorated due to cutbacks during the economic crisis.

The doctors’ group as well as the patients’ associations stated that the cutbacks have resulted in insufficient resources, longer delays in treatment and diminished quality of healthcare.
