WORK on Altea promenade has this week unveiled a 15th century tombstone in an urbanisation garden.
The surprise discovery came about when diggers began work on the sea-side end of the urbanisation garden to make way for the new promenade.
A worksite technitian spotted the tombstone, that had been sitting in the garden for over 40 years and which resident though of as a ornamental copy.
