Spain was the world’s biggest wine exporter last year, but earned less in revenues. Almost 24 million hectolitres were sold, more than by either France or Italy, but Spain’s average price was down 2.9% per litre compared with 2014. So, while these countries earned around €8 and €5 billion respectively, Spain’s revenue totalled just €2.4 billion.
