Capital Flight

Investors took €70.2 billion out of Spain last year, 27% of it in December, the month of the general election. Monday’s data from the Bank of Spain show that 2015 recorded the worst capital flight since the record €170 million in 2012. 2015’s total includes the withdrawal of €21.3 billion in direct investment and €48.8 billion in investments including loans and deposits.
