Málaga’s municipal water company, Emasa, has set aside €500,000 to ensure supplies to the city’s most needy families. Announcing the move last week, mayor Francisco de la Torre said more resources would be made available if necessary. The city takes the view that cutting a water supply because of non-payment should be prohibited by law.
