Electric company Endesa has installed protective insulation on four electricity-line towers in the Loma Matute area of the sierra in Casares to prevent vultures from being electrocuted. The move came after complaints by the town hall to the regional Environment Department and the discovery in February of three dead vultures in the area, which is designated a special protection zone for birds.
