Police have confiscated 74 elephant tusks weighing 10 kilos each from a private home in Madrid. Reports say the owner inherited the tusks which had been hunted in Mozambique in 1970 on a licence which had been altered illegally. He had apparently been hoping to sell the tusks, which is now illegal throughout Europe in an effort to deter poaching.
