Málaga’s new prison in Archidona opened formally on Monday. It has space for 180 inmates, the majority of whom are being moved from other penitentiaries in order to be closer to their families. The €160 million facility has an Olympic-size swimming pool, gymnasium, dentist and bakery, and is expected to relieve pressure on the Granada prison at Albolote.
