Spain’s first baby of 2017 arrived in Málaga as the New Year chimes were ringing out. Carlota, weighing 3.38 kilos, was born on the stroke of midnight at Vélez-Málaga hospital to parents from Caleta de Vélez. She was quickly followed by Lara from Galicia and Alejandra from Madrid who both arrived within seconds, while the first boy arrived half an hour later in Zaragoza.
