A 40-year-old woman from Madrid has become Spain’s first fatal victim of domestic violence in 2017. She was stabbed by her 20-year-old Colombian boyfriend, at the home which they had shared, at around 10pm on New Year’s Eve and died some hours later in hospital. The suspect, now in custody, is believed to have been the subject of a distancing order from her.
