Unemployment in Málaga province increased by 3.1% in October to a total to 153,764 registered jobless. The month traditionally shows an increase due to the end of high-season job contracts. However, year-on-year the figure was down 8.1%, with 13,528 fewer jobless than last October. Nationwide, unemployment rose 1.67% in October, to 3,567,026, but was down 7.91% year-on-year.
