Plans to pedestrianise part of Vélez-Málaga’s town centre are moving forward, after the technical plan, carried out by a private company, was handed over to local officials last week. Mayor Antonio Moreno said the pedestrianisation, to include areas such as Plaza Carmelitas and the Camino de Málaga, will take two years at a cost of €600,000, and “reactivate the economy, create jobs and promote trade”.
