A new Oxfam report on inequality claims the 20 richest people in Spain have amassed €115.1 billion, equivalent to the total wealth of the poorest 30%. The study says the best-off enjoyed increases of 15% in the last year, while the wealth of 99% of people fell by the same proportion. Spain’s inequality is now 10 times the EU average, described by Oxfam as “intolerable.”
