Marbella’s local council last week approved the granting of the construction licence for San Pedro Alcántara’s new health centre. The deputy mayor for the zone, Rafael Piña, said the move is “important”, as a new centre will reduce overcrowding at the area’s current clinic, which serves “Benahavís and even parts of Estepona”, as well as people from San Pedro and Nueva Andalucía. The next step is for the regional government to put the works contract out to tender.
