Citrus fruit production in Málaga province, based mainly in the Guadalhorce valley, is expected to increase by 22% in the 2017/2018 season compared to 2016/2017, according to Junta de Andalucía forecasts, which predict a total of over 175,000 tonnes this season. The total includes nearly 79,000 tonnes of oranges, 73,000 tonnes of lemons, over 23,000 tonnes of tangerines and more than 1,100 tonnes of grapefruit.
