ALL FIVE municipal day nurseries in Estepona have been equipped with a choking first-aid device aimed at saving lives in the event of a child getting food or other objects caught in his or her throat. Town hall officials said the Dechoker device – which includes a mask to cover the nose and mouth, and a tube that uses suction to remove the obstruction – is faster and simpler than using the traditional Heimlich manoeuvre.
