The new tax makes some drinks up to 20 per cent more expensive than in the rest of Spain

A new regional law imposing an additional tax on sugary drinks came into force in Cataluña on Monday. It affects a wide range of canned and bottled products including fruit juices, sports drinks and flavoured waters, and makes some of them up to 20 per cent more expensive than in the rest of Spain.
