News circulated on Whatsapp at the weekend that a Level 5 terror attack was imminent on Tuesday. This was later found to be a hoax, and although Spain remains on a level 4 alert with extra security measures in certain places. The Whatsapp alert stated that the whole of the train network was accompanied by heavily armed police, and a terror attack could occur in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia or Alicante.
