Smokers face two-pronged attack from health chiefs

The Valencia government has advised smokers they will face increased costs and fewer public places where they can indulge their habit.

Regional councillor for health, Marciano Gómez claimed that it was pressure from the regions which has forced the ministry to agree that money raised from increasing the price of a packet of cigarettes would be channelled into the treatment of illnesses caused by smoking.
