DOG owners in Rincón de la Victoria have four months to have a DNA sample taken from their pets. The requirement is included in a new bylaw which was formally published in the Official Provincial Bulletin last Friday.

The town hall says the measure, which has been developed with the College of Veterinarians, will allow owners who fail to clean up after their pets to be traced and fined, by comparing the DNA of samples with the database of dogs in the town.
