Public Works closes ‘dangerous’ A-7 pedestrian bridge

The overpass will remain closed until repairs are carried out

Following an alert by authorities in Mijas and Fuengirola over the “dangerously” deteriorated condition of a pedestrian bridge over the A-7 motorway (CDSN last week), the Public Works Ministry last Thursday announced the “immediate” closure of the overpass until repairs are carried out.

The ministry issued a statement saying that the bridge, located near the BP petrol station and the Beatriz Palace hotel, is included in a refurbishment programme for 10 pedestrian overpasses on the A-7 in Málaga province and is “the only one still pending work”.
