SIX people have been detained by National Police in Málaga in a crackdown on the illegal distribution of pay-TV channels.

An investigation into the operation began after a complaint from the Premier League about companies illegally providing its live football match coverage to subscribers.   Police found that a legally-owned ISP (internet service provider) was providing legal internet connections, but that it was also running one of the largest illegal TV streaming platforms in Europe, offering IPTV (IP Television) services to customers all over the world.
