The Valencia government is stumping up €72.2 million to cover the additional healthcare needed during the summer holidays, with record numbers of tourists set to visit the region.
A spokesman for the regional health department said the investment will see reinforcements brought in to cover staff who are on holiday and also to boost the service during a time when the population shoots up in tourism hotspots.
