More than half of Spain’s branch offices shut since 2008

A total of 26,400 branch offices have been closed and 100,000 employees dismissed by the banking sector in Spain since the first economic crisis of this century struck in 2008.

Proportionally the Valencia region has been hit harder than other areas of the country.
