A driver has been arrested by the Guardia Civil for trying to run a large quantity of drugs to Ibiza on board the ferry from Denia.
He is the second motorist to be caught in the last month at the port using hidden compartments built into a vehicle.
A spokesman for the force said that officers had found 4.5 kilos of different drugs during a search. They had been carrying out routine inspections of vehicles boarding a ferry earlier this month when ‘they detected details that led them to suspect that a more thorough search would be necessary’.
